Taxablity of person employed outside

This query is : Resolved

02 January 2015 Dear Experts,

One of my friend went to work in Dare Salam - Africa. He gets salary but no tax is deducted. As per indian income tax act if a person is on employment outside for more than 182 days he is considered NRI and only his indian income is considered. So only his other income will be taxable. If he wants to take loan in future then banks require income tax return and his income will be less. Any suggestion?

Thanks

02 January 2015 HDFC, ICICI have way back started giving loan to NRIs, on the strength of their salaru certificate abroad + remittances they make...Please try that...

And you can very well file Indian income tax return...in which you can show the SALARY under exempt income....

Our Bankers are smart enough to read that amount of exempt income....

All the best

02 January 2015 THERE IS NO REQUIRED TO FILE THE O/S INDIA INCOME WHEN HE IS NRI IN YEAR.

YOUR FRIENDS CAN APPLUY FOR LOAN WITH THE OUTSIDE INCOME PROOF.
