08 May 2016 Under which head is the monthly payment payment for research work taxable? TDS @10% is deducted therefrom. What are the deductions available?

13 May 2016 the payment is taxable in the hands of receiver. It is taxable under the head income from business/profession

14 May 2016 Thanks. Please enlighten about the deductions available as the nature of work involves taking interviews only and submitting reports thereof! Its temporary contract job!

16 May 2016 All expenses incurred wholly and exclusively to earn this income can be allowed as expenses. Examples could be travelling, printing & stationery, vehicle expenses etc
