Tax credit mismatch showing incorrect amount of 26as

07 January 2014 Return of my father was filed in July 2013 for AY 2013-14. In 26AS TDS was showing as Rs.7615 and accordingly claimed in ITR. The utility was showing refund of Rs.5150. But his account is showing tax credit mismatch stating that in 26AS amount is Rs.1834 but 26AS is showing Rs.7615 as claimed in ITR.His ITR too not processed yet. what to do??????

Tax credit showing in form 26AS is final on which you can claim TDS refund.

So make sure that Tax credit showing is 26 AS is claimed in ITR utility while preparing ITR.

Miss match arises due to no claiming of TDS deducted in ITR.

08 January 2014 26AS is showing Rs.7615 and i have claimed Rs.7615.dont why mismatch credit is generated showing amount as per 26as is Rs.1834.and even return has not been processed yet.

Keep details of TDS claimed with you, when return gets processed, ITO before rejecting your claim will intimate you for clarification. This has happened with many assesses & Delhi HC has directed that tax authorities should not adjust refunds due against past outstanding demands under any circumstances, without prior communication with the tax payers.
