Notice given by the department regarding deposit of TDS for the A.Yr 09-10 suggests that in case of a GOVERNMENT COMPANY TDS should be deposited same day.Whether view of department is correct or not.

Yes. Tds deducted on payment made to Govt Compnay is required to be deposited on same day

Upto 31st March 2009, in case of govt deductor , tds is to be deposited in same day. i.e AY 2009-10 , same day is correct.
afterward 1st April 2009 , now there is no limit of same day.
