I have two DIN and Oldest is deactivated due to non-filing of KYC. I am not able to do KYC as the another DIN has same KYC details. Further, when I am surrendering the latest DIN, form DIR-5 is showing error. Please suggest how can I surrender one DIN?

Got it! Here’s how you can deal with this **DIN surrender issue** when the oldest DIN is deactivated for non-filing KYC and you're facing errors in DIR-5 for the latest DIN:
---
### Situation Recap:
* You have **two DINs**. * **Oldest DIN is deactivated** due to non-filing of KYC. * You **can’t file KYC on oldest DIN** because the other DIN already has the KYC details. * When you try to surrender the **latest DIN via DIR-5**, it shows error.
---
### How to proceed?
1. **Oldest DIN (Deactivated):**
* Since it’s deactivated for KYC non-compliance, it cannot be re-activated without KYC. * You can try to **file KYC for the oldest DIN** using a different email ID / mobile number if possible, but usually, the system blocks this if details match with active DIN. * If KYC can’t be done, you cannot voluntarily surrender it via DIR-5 normally.
2. **Latest DIN (Active with KYC):**
* Since you want to surrender this one but DIR-5 is throwing an error, it may be because:
* You cannot surrender an active DIN linked to an active director appointment in any company. * Or system glitch.
3. **Recommended Approach:**
* **Check if the latest DIN is linked as director in any company:**
* If yes, you cannot surrender this DIN without first resigning/delisting yourself as director. * **If latest DIN not linked anywhere:**
* Try clearing browser cache or use a different browser. * Use MCA helpdesk to report DIR-5 error for surrender. * **If still unresolved, escalate to MCA Regional Office or via MCA grievance portal (e-Sahyata) explaining your duplicate DIN problem and surrender difficulty.**
4. **Alternative Option:**
* Since oldest DIN is deactivated, it is practically non-operational. * You may keep the active DIN and continue with it. * Inform MCA about the duplicate DIN issue via e-Sahyata to seek further clarity.

### Additional tips:
* You can file DIR-6 to update KYC details for active DIN (if required). * Surrender (DIR-5) is generally for voluntary surrender of DIN not linked to active director positions. * If system errors persist, direct communication with MCA is necessary.
