As per CARO, the company should have an internal audit system commensurate with the size and nauture of its business.
Query : Whether it should be headed by a CA or only a proper internal audit system should exist ?

There is no prescribed qualification like CA .... for internal auditor, internal audit department need not be headed by a Chartered Accountant.
But it is a practice to appoint experienced Chartered Accountant to head the internal audit department
