What is Treatment of Shares Held as Investment and now Converted in to Stock in trade ?? and what is cost in bussiness ???

For individual:
Are the shares transferred in the name of business when converted into stock?
if no...then no capital gain on conversion of shares in stock
However when the same are sold, the profit will be worked out at the original cost.
For Firm :
