I have started a manpower firm this month. I have applied for Servic tax no even though i dont expect my servcie tax to go above 9 lacs this years. The reason is My cleint is askin for one.

Now My query is do i have file return even if my turn over will be below 9lacs.

17 June 2011 Thanks Mr warrier for your quick response. Juts one more query. I will be charging Service tax to my cleints but wanted to know if total Incoem comes under 9 lacs Will I be liable to pay the service tax which I collected from the client.

17 June 2011 Can't withhold the tax. Necessarily ,ST collected has to be remitted to government within the prescribed time.
