if service provider has issued the bill to service recipient on 31/3/2015 but the service recipient will pay this bill amount in may 2015. my Query is can i deposited the ST amount after receiving from service recipient.

please reply

31 March 2015 No it has to be deposited on 31st March. Service tax has to be paid on raising of bill, rendering of service, receipt of money which ever is earlier.

31 March 2015 DEAR SIR
SUPPOSE I HAVE RAIDED THE BILL RS. 100000+12360 TOTAL BILL 112360/- THE BILL ISSUED DATE IS 31/3/2015, BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE SERVICE RECEIVER WILL NEVER PAID THIS TOTAL 112360/-
SIR TO AVOID THIS PLEASE SUGGEST ME WHETHER MY BELOW THOUGHT IS CORRECT OR NOT.

SUPPOSE I HAVE RAISED THE BILL RS. 112360 ON 31/3/2015, IF THE SERVICE RECIPIENT HAS PAID ONLY 105000/- ON 15/5/2015, CAN I REVISED THIS BILL CHANGE THE DATE 13/5/2015. AND I WILL PAY THIS ST AMOUNT ON
5/7/2015 BEFORE THE DUE DATE OF ST. PLEASE TELL ME IT IS CORRECT OR NOT.

31 March 2015 No you can only issue credit note for the bill and adjust excess service tax paid in subsequent bill. You can't revise the bill date.

i have already did which you have above suggested but the service recipient has completely refused to adjust the Service tax.please suggest my what to do to avoid it.

and i would like to know one more thing there are so many service provider in my city they are all paying service tax after receiving from the debtors.

31 March 2015 Service provider has to pay service tax before receipt of payment else interest liability will arise.
Already quarterly ST payment benefit is there.
