Service tax on government sub-contract

13 June 2015 Hello,

Is service tax applicable on constructing road & building of Government through sub-contract system ???

Please help me it's very urgent.

13 June 2015 If main contractor is exempted from service tax then sub contractor is also exempted. See clause 29 of Notification 25/2012.

If main contractor falls under recent amendments of union budget, 2015, then, is it liable?

We are providing service to R & B Division of Government of Gujarat through sub-contractor.
