Sec 234e

This query is : Resolved

11 December 2013 Recently Income Tax department is sending the intimation of demand mentioning late filing fees u/s 234E .A huge amount has been determined for payment with in 30 days. Can i file a writ petition to the High Court for relief? This section has been introduced recently stating no waive .

12 December 2013 Santanu sir, If it is possible and a right person ready to do the same, then please do it sir. Because so many TAN holders suffered in this regard. Government should take necessary step to this problem. The beauty is more and more Government Deductors are either filed ETDS returns so late or No ETDS filed until now. Reason is no proper guidelines to them. So Department must educate them first and then imply the Penalty. So proper time to be given to them to file the previous year returns.
