Sale of packing material on which cenvat credit was taken

09 May 2012 A company has purchased Boxes/Packing material on which CENVAT credit was taken.

Now, for some reason, part of that packing material is sold to some other company. My question is: Whether Excise would be leviable on this sale. I think Excise would not apply as manufacturing point is missing in this case.

11 May 2012 Although packing material did not undergo manufacturing process and excise duty not leviable but cenvat credit availed on receipt have to be reversed.
