Sale of land received out of partition

There is a piece of land received upon family partition which was originally purchased in the name of my elder brother. To save registeration charges, we are planning to get it registered in my name through gift deed. please advice the best way to avoid or reduce income tax.

Register it as gift deed no income tax payable.
