Sale of exempted goods is liable to registration under vat

26 October 2013 if I sale Papad which is exempt from VAT and my turnover is 25 lac. for this i have to registerd under VAT or not.

28 October 2013 Since your turnover is above 5 lakhs you need to get registered under VAT.

04 November 2013 May be its right sir, because section 22 clearly reads it if the TAXABLE TURNOVER exceeds 5 lakhs.

Registration (Section 22): Every dealer whose taxable turnover exceeds two lakh is required to be registered under the Karnataka Value Added Tax law. Thereafter vide amendment the registration limit has been increased from two lakh to five lakh.
