02 December 2011 Dear friend, The Salary is taxable on the basis of accrual basis, i.e. accrued whether received or not. In case of Arrears , whether amount has been received or not will be included in the salary of the F.Y. in which it is accrued. Section 89 provide relief to the assessee in case of salary received in arrear or advance.
