Running allowance

I am having a query regarding the running allowance attributable to the employees working in a transport sector.The maximum amount to be claimed as an exemption is Rs.10,000/-, but our study material shows it as Rs.6000/-. Eagerly awaiting your valuable replies on the same and please advice which one to follow for our November 2011 exams.

Yes. Rs.10000 only. please read with notification NOTIFICATION NO. 85/2010 [F. NO. 149/45/2010-SO (TPL)], DATED 22-11-2010

Increased to Rs.10,000/- with effect from 01/09/2008.
