is it correct to file return of firm by name of proprietor.

If the business is a sole proprietorship business, income from such business shall be included in the total income of the individual because a sole proprietorship business does not a separate identity from the individual.
The income shall be the income of the individual (owner) and shall be shown in his individual return.
