Relief u/s 89(1)

My client has received some amount in this FY 2010-11 towards arrears from the year 2000. From which year I can calculate the relief u/s 89(1). Some calculators for 89(1) are showing from the FY 2009-10 to 2005-06. Guide me how to calculate the relief.
