Regarding non resident income in india.

19 August 2013 Dear Experts,

One my client he is Non Resident he filed return in US & He declares indian income also
in that return, now My question is whether he need to file return in india also? if Yes which income he need to show in return in india income or foreign income also, which he declared in US? Please give reply ASAP.

19 August 2013 if he is not a resident indian as per indian income tax act then he need not file return of income if his income in india is less then the basic exemption limit for individuals.

Mention the number of days of his stay in india.

19 August 2013 His income exceeds basic exemption limit & what about the double taxation consequences because in india he is getting salary income also bank interest & they deducted 30% on this income. which ITR we need to file. plz clarify

19 August 2013 if he is getting salary income in india then he needs to file itr-1 and itr needs to be submitted to new delhi office of income tax dept.
Regarding DTAA you need to check whether there is any agreement in this regard or not.
