I want to know whether if the person having HUF status if he died then is there automatic transfer of HUF status to his elder son or his wife after his death?
And if now his son want to buy flat in the name of his fathers HUF then is it possible? if possible then who will sign the deal? please suggest the right way.

If the father was the Kartha of an HUF, on his death his eldest son takes over. He can purchase property out of the said HUF funds and the property belongs to that HUF.
