Dear experts, if someone has shifted his residence to another city for employment purpose and while in earlier city that person had claimed refund but it returned back to income tax department because they couldnt find the assessee as he changed his residence. Now in this case whether assessee has to go to assessing officer of earlier city for change of address or simply to officer of new city for reissue of that refund.

Aseessee needs to write a letter to prev city Jurisdictional Ao about his change of address and for refund & should also apply for change in address in pan.

only writing a letter will be enough or client has to go there personally and meet the assessing officer for the same?
