Procedure to crrect pan no. of challan 280

i wrote wrong pan no. on challan 280 and deposited the amount into bank on 30 march2014. now what is the procedure to rectify such mistake???

If you have deposited tax by cheque then bank must have given you token temporarily which you have to return to bank after few days and they will issue you acknowledgement with stamps on it. In the meanwhile the bank makes the online payment on your behalf (as the cheque is in favour of bank- like SBI A/C Income tax). while making the payment, bank will check the name of assessee and if everything is right then only the bank will proceed to pay. Since you have written wrong PAN No, bank will not make payment and will inform you if you have written your Telephone no on challan. If you have not given the Tel. No then you need to follow up with the bank.
