Preparing for a job after a career bteak- Pls guide

24 June 2010 Hi,

I am a married woman who had taken a career break after my daughter was born. It has been 4-5 years since i have worked now.Now i want to get back to the industry. Last week i attended an interview & i reallised that i could not answer a simple question on accounting though i am a CA Final - 1 grp cleared +B.Com . I want hep w.r. t to what i need to start with to get back on track w.r.t the subject of accounting , finance, etc.Pls recommend some books, topics for me to study & face the interview. My condition is so bad that i have even lost track of statutory payment due dates ,etc. Please guide.

24 June 2010 In the Finance professional the basic things are remain 90% same it will not change, just we can update our knowledge through regular updation of changes,it will keep you always update in the field

You can regular read the Accounting,Tax,Finance related updation and try refer the latest published articles of the Insiitutes and other Professional websites

24 June 2010 Do not judge yourself by an interview without preparation.

Just relax and do not think too much...first brush up your skills with some latest books. Allow your self to take a month to win this battle.

For income tax refer taxmann ready reckoner. Come on regarding books you knoe better than me. Just go to any good book shop and pic some books.

So just be happy and enjoy life with your sweet family and congrats for your decision.
