I WANT TO KNOW UPTO WHAT PERIOD WE SHOULD PRESERVE OUR ACCOUNTS BOTH FOR INCOME TAX & SALES TAX PURPOSE.WHAT IS THE TIME LIMIT FOR PRESERVANCE OF ACCOUNTS OF PROPRIETOTSHIP FIRm, PARTNERSHIP FIRMS & PVT LYD COMPANIES FROM POINT OF VIEW OF INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT & SALES TAX DEPARTMENT.I WANT TO DESTOY ACCOUNTS OF LAST 20 YEARS . PLEASE HELP ME IMMEDIATELY

It is generally eight years from the end of financial years in the case of sales/vat records in almost all the vat laws.....mjk
