Whether benefit of cenvat would be available if PAN based service tax code of the party is not mentioned on the bill

you have paid service tax on that bill. you cant take cenvat credit. call to party and collect pan no. of party.

OK, I know that we can call the party and get the PAN based Service Tax.
But, the party do not have PAN based Service Tax no, then what we should do.
He has service tax no, as per old system.
