05 June 2012 For NRI - to pay advance tax is there any separate challan or is it ITNS 280. If it is itns 280 can any address be given as local address?

Does amendment u/s 207 applicable for NRI's also or for residents only?

05 June 2012 1. Challan 280 shall only be used.
2. You can give local address also.
3. Section 207 is applicable to ALL individuals who are of the age of 60 years or more at any time during the year.

Accordingly, if a non-resident is of the age of 60 years or more and does not have income from business, he is not required to pay advance tax.

05 June 2012 Sec 207 clearly says individual resident in inida. Hence can u pl clarify if this applies to NRI

05 June 2012 Sorry made a mistake. It is applicable only to individual RESIDENT in India.
