20 February 2013 An Indian origin person having employment in abroad since January 2005 . Every year he visited India two times for continuous staying less than 30 days. Please clarify his status for the Asst. Year 2011-2012 & 2012-2013.

He received salary abroad. He transfer few balance in his NRI account time to time and getting bank interest. Is his income liable to tax. If Exempted than how to show in his return of income.

20 April 2013 He will treated as Non Resident and his salary will not be taxable in India as he is received it outside India and remitting it in India time to time and salary received outside need not to be shown in Income Tax Return.
But interest earned in India will be taxable in India.
