Hello everybdy ,
I have received a notice under section 143(1) ... for paying of intrest for the years 1999-00 ( rs 303 ) and for year 2007-08 ( rs 2133 ) ...... this notice is for my dad and we have made ITR file for him only twice in those years .... and even that filing was nil as he dint had any income .... for rest of the years we never maintained IT file for him ...
Date of communication on notice letter is 05/05/2012 and i received it thru courier on 05/07/12 ...... so can any1 tell me wht i have to do now ? ... will i have to pay them this amt ? its been many years now for the years they r asking for ....

Assessment for both the years are time barred in the law and notice u/s 143(1) can not be issued.

yes i am gonna contact them soon ... but atleast can any1 give me some basic IDEA about this ?? ..... i have got notice after such a long time ... soo is tht right ? .. will i have to pay them ??

First you have to attend the office at the address mentioned in the notice.
