ONE OF MY CLIENT HAS NOT FILED THE RETURNS FOR THE A.Y.07-08 AND 08-09 NOW HE WANTS TO FILE THE RETURN FOR A.Y.09-10 AND 10-11....
WHETHER HE CAN DO SO OR I HAD TO FILE THE RETURN FOR THE YEAR 07-08 & 08-09....THE LAST DATE OF FILING RETURN HAS ALSO ELAPSED.
WHAT ARE CAUSES WHICH CAN ARISE IN CASE OF NON FILING OF RETURN'S FOR THOSE 2 YEARS...

Yes, one can file return for Assessment year 09-10 & 10-11 even he has nit filed return for the earlier years. After filing the return for the current year, if IT officer has reason to believe that you had income above the taxable limits in the earlier year. he may ask you to file the return of those year and he will scrutinize the return of those year. In addition to this he may raise a penalty on you

there is no problem if client under tax limit and he not fill return you can file 09-10 and 10-11 return.
