Non filing of it return

22 June 2018 My friend who is a salaried person, received IT notice for non Filing of IT RETURN for FY 2015-16. His TDS is deducted from FY 10-11 till date, and still he hasn't filed even a single Tax Return.
What are the consequences and solution?

22 June 2018 For salaried persons, it is not mandatory to file return if TDS is already deducted from the salary.

22 June 2018 Let me clarify it...its not mandatory only if the salary per annum is less than 500000...refer to the below news article

23 June 2018 being an expert, you should advise people properly. The query is for AY 2016-17. The article you are sharing was applicable for only one assessment year!
