Mvat registration for multiple business (proprietor)

08 October 2012 My query is regarding a proprietor who is having mvat registration in a particular line of business which has been taken by him voluntarily.
He now wants to start other business having separate names from the orginal business. Would he have to apply for seperate mvat no. for these business ?

08 October 2012 He need not have a seperate registration for the same. He has to just inform the sales tax department about the new place of business, new business/trade name and the commodities dealt in.
