If we pay Mediclaim ins. premium in cash, could we take tax benefit u/s. 80D.

Mediclaim should be paid by only by way of a crossed cheque.. DD... but NOT IN CASH.. not allowed u/s 80D..

Premium paid in cash is not eligible for deduction u/s 80D
