I am a salaried person. I have income either from salary or fixed deposit interest only.
For last 4 years I have been filing my income tax return manually by submitting the hard copy of IT return in the income tax office.
I have paying my income taxes in full and usually I keep it in such a way that there is around Rs500 refund applicable. I keep the refund so that when I get the refund, then I would know that assessment is completed.
But so far I have not received any communication from IT department for any of my past IT returns.
Is there any way to find out the status of IT return assessment if they were filed in Noida manually ?
I am not sure if IT department look into any IT returns which are filed manually. Is it true ?
In future, do you suggest that I should file the return electronically or continuing filing it manually is fine ?

Pl check the refund status in https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html
Take print out of the result,if status shows refund is issued, and meet the ITO to get a copy of the intimation u/s 143(1).
Prima facie u are not covered under the mandatory provisions of e-filing. So manual filing can be continued.
