12 July 2010 My employer has rejected my LTC claim for the FY 2009-10. Can I claim LTC exemption while filing my ITR? If yes, should I inform my employer of the same?

Also, is it correct on the part of employer to reject LTC claim by employee?

12 July 2010 If the employer is paying anything as a LTC and you have submitted proof for undertaken of Journey. The employer is bound to give the exemption for payment of LTC. It is available twice in a block of Four Years. But f you CTC does not comprise of any element of LTC and you want to claim as an LTC. the employer will not give any exemption. ou will also be not eligible to claim LTC while filing your return because you have not received any amount towards TTC from the employer.
