LTA

This query is : Resolved

05 December 2009 Dear Expert,

I have a query on LTA & asking with e.g.

If "A" is employed in the company on 01.07.2008 & he is eligible for LTA after completion of one year of service.
Now "A" is eligible for LTA on 30.06.2009. Now in the month of December 2009 (which is the last year of Block of 4 Years, "A" wants to claim LTA?

Now the question arises that upto which period he can claim the LTA?
1. Upto December 2009? or
2. Upto March 2010.

As per Sec 10(5) Block of 4 year is the Calender Year.

Please advise ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

07 December 2009 The term 'calender year' is used for the claim purpose only, in other words we may interprate that the part of Financial Year for which LTA is claimed should fall in the LTA claiming calender year.

10 December 2009 Thanks a lot Sir for your reply.
