What is the exact meaning of lineal ascendent and lineal discendent in respect of gifts received from relatives? pls let me know this quickly..

lineal ascendant means father, father's father,father's father's father......continue........
lineal descendent means son, grandson,grndson's son ..continue........

Lineal ascendant means father, grandfather and so on.
Lineal decendant means son, grandson and so on.
