13 September 2013 Please let me know that whether Principal contractor and sub contractor both are liable to pay service tax?

15 September 2013 Yes both will be liable. The principle contractor can take the cenvat credit of service tax paid by him to the sub contractor, at the time of payment of his service tax liability.
