01 August 2012 I am distributor of Dish TV.
During F.Y. 2010-11 I had received commission of Rs. 68.00 lacs fom Dish Tv.
Today Dish TV ask me to pay service tax on Rs. 68.00 which they will reimburse me after submission of evidence of payment. My question is :-

1) How can I obtain Service Tax regn.
2) From which Date I have to calculate Interest quantum.
3) How can I submit Service Tax Returns.
4) Any penalty will arrise.
5) If I will not pay Service Tax, what would happen

01 August 2012 1. Service tax registration is online now. please register in www.aces.gov.in website and apply online through filling and submitting ST-1 form

2. Interest will be 18% from the due date to date of payment (day basis can be calculated

3. after registration you can file st-3 service tax return online in www.aces.gov.in website itself

4.If a person who is liable to pay Service Tax fails to pay service tax, he shall pay in addition to such tax and interest, a penalty which shall not be less than Rs.100/- for every day during which such failure continues or @1% of such tax per month, whichever is higher. However, the penalty amount payable shall not exceed the amount of Service Tax payable
