we are Mfg. unit ,now we would like to do job work by another mfg. company.so we have to give only intimation to local Excise office or we have to take permission from Range office.Pl. advise.

Genarally the rule is, if you are sending the goods for Job work, then the goods should be returned to your factory within 180 days. Otherwise it will be treated as a normal clearance from your factory & Excise Duty to be levied.
But in case you want to despatch the processed goods from the vendors premises to your customer' site as a "Direct Despatch", then you have to get the permission from your range office with a copy to your division i.e from the Deputy Commssioner of CE of your factory.

Thanks Sir, Itmeans if finished goods does not directly lift to the consinee then we have to take only intimation to local Range office about Job work.

Your last reply is not very clear to me. kindly be clear once more. Anyway wat i got thru ur reply am enlighten the rule once again: Yes, if you depatch the goods directly from your Job worker to Customers place then permission to be reqd from your Range Superintendent under the intimation from the Deputy Commissioner of Central Excise of your respective division of CE.
thanks for your response.i tell you clearely.we are mfg.unit.our finished goods is pipe.we want some job work in pipe by another company (job worker)in this condition we have to take permission or only intimation to Central Excise Range and finished foods not dispatched to the consinee from the job worker's premises it means after job work we will received the material in our unit then we will dispated the material to party from our premises. thanks
