i am a registered service provider, i have availed the registration voluntarily ie my gross receipts are below 9 lacs.

My query is can i issue invoice without charging Service Tax untill my gross receipts exceed 10 lacs.

21 June 2012 Dear Mr. Santosh,

Since you are not liable for Service tax, you can issue invoice without charging service tax.

21 June 2012 Yes, offcourse!! A person can get registered voluntarily also. The person is required to get registered if the taxable service crosses the limit of Rs. 9 lacs but the taxability arises only after the value of service exceeds Rs.10 lacs.
