Interest on long term caoital gain u/s 234b

02 January 2012 sir,
an individual has been disallowed the exemption u/s 54, and therefore levied LTCG tax and interest u/s 234b,sir my doubt that from which period to which period this assesse will be levied interest. capital gain arisen on 28-02-2008. and he has been served with a notice u/s 156, asking him to pay the tax with the interest as on 15-11-2011.sir please look into this matter as early as possible
