interest not paid on income tax refund

23 July 2009 I had filed my income tax return for AY 2005-2006 in time. Refund due was Rs. 6662.00. Which has now been received in june 2009 but without any interest from IT deptt.

What should i do?

20 October 2009 you should write to the department or make the contact from your AO. It should be made from 1st April, 2005 till the refund voucher has been made. However if it is less than 10% of the total tax liability then no interest.
