12 September 2012 A Company has made an invoice(Not the Tax Invoice) which includes the VAT Component. Since The Invoice is system generated, Due to system's default Invoice did not contains the word 'Tax Invoice'.Now Buyer is making an issue that because of word 'Tax Invoice' is not mentioned in the bill he can not be able to claim Input Credit, and the accounting software does not have an option to reverse the invoice and make a fresh invoice because entry was posted in March 2011 and audit of the same has been done. Is that the Option "we can 'add' the word Tax before the Invoice and affix a stamp or seal of the company to convert normal invoice into tax invoice.'

12 September 2012 Yes.. you can add the word "Tax Invoice" at the very top or prominent place.
If you stamp of Tax Invoice then it is better to put that stamp on it.
You can very well get the credit. The word Tax invoice is must but it is not compulsion that it should be mentioned by the seller only

make sure .. you have to show that invoice as Tax inovice ..with TIN. no. of that party..
