26 January 2011 There was a FD in name of a person who passed away , now the his wife wants to claim the amount from bank .... no nomination was made at the time of making the FD.. what is the procedure to realise the money .. Do the lady need to submit a indemnity bond on a stamp paper.. if so please mention the value of stamp paper and also provide the format of indemnity bond

26 January 2011 Documents generally required are:-

1. Death Certificate ((Duly certified by a Magistrate / Notary public).
2. Claim application in the prescribed form and surety letter, consent letter of all other claimants (available with the branch).
3. Letter of Indemnity in the prescribed format duly executed on stamp paper.
4. Proof of authority of legal heirs.(legal heir ship certificate).
5. Stamped receipt signed by claimant for amount received.
