Income tax

This query is : Resolved

28 July 2011 Sir,

One of my client working in a hospital is having a total income less than limit of Rs. 160000 ( after 80 c deductions). they are not deducting TDS on salary. Is he required to file a return?? if yes how to file and wat r all documents to be produced??

28 July 2011 If salary before deduction under section 80 C is more than Rs. 1,60,000/- necessarily return has to be filed. Return form is ITR-1 commonly called as sahaj. Return being to be filed as annexureless, nothing to be attached with the said return form. But if called upon a proper notice ( scrutiny assessment) documentary proof of earnings and deductions has to be produced before the assessing authority for their verification.
