22 October 2010 THANK YOU VERY MUCH. CAN U PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE CUSTOMS DUTY (IF ANY ADDL DUTY/CESS APPLICABLE) RATE AND CST APPLICABLE ON WINE AND OTHER LIQUOR PRODUCTS?

Dear Expert,
Kindly let me know the procedure for obtaining IEC code for -
1.Import of wine,malt,cheese and other food items.
2.Should we take separate license for wine import?
3.Should we take a central excise license for importing wine?
4.Should we take separate registration for VAT and CST in Tamilnadu and Pondicherry?

Kindly enlighten me how to go further with the above issues.

IEC code is one for all the commodites

1. file a application in DGFT paying prescribed fees.

2.yes for importing wine you should obtain seprate licience from (RCMC)
3.not necessary for obtaining central excise registration only you should take state excise duty registration .
4.VAT/CST is concerned about each state .
if you are seting up a branch or office in different states you should obtain in th same state.

or you can take registration on one state do the CST transaction whichever state you are interested.

rate of additional import duty is 4%

normally CST rate will be 2 % against C form

& local rate of tax is with out c form

kindly check on which state you are going to do the trade.

it is 100% TO 150%

plus 3 % educational cess

for wine & other liquors
