If a person is claiming interest u/s 24(b) under House porperty then
Can he claim HRA benefit u/s 10(13A).

28 August 2010 Yes.If he staying different cities due to employement reason can be claimed u/s.23(2b)

28 August 2010 It depends on where the person resides ,

If the person resides in a rented premises in the same city where he is having HP , further he wants to claim both HRA & Interest then His property will be treated as deemed to be let out.

If the person resides in other city he can claim the both by saying his property as SOP by his parents (if so)

28 August 2010 For claiming Housing interest SEC.23(2b) - If a person staying away from his own house due to employment problem( in different city), the house property can be treasted as SOP.
