I have business in Kerala and Mumbai also sales tax registrations . now under GST can I need one registration or will take separate GST registration in these states ?

Single registration should be taken but Don't forget to specify the details of all registrations.

You need to take two registrations under GST one in Kerala and another in Mumbai.

Yes if you have branch in each state separate registration is required.
