fine on late submission of EXCISE RETURNS ER-2

Kindly advise us what is the penalty levied on late submission of Excise Returns ER-2 and where in the Excise manual we can find the instructions regarding the same.

excise duty should pay timely othervise intrest and plenty imposed by central excise dept.In case you are late filing er-2 excise department can send scn and can ask reason of late filing.
