is there any fine ?

27 June 2009 Hi,
The e-itr has to be filed within 30 days from the date of its upload. If it is not filed within due date then it is deemed to be not filed. However the ITO may issue you the notice u/s. 142. If you have the taxable income then file your return in paper format immediately. Penalty of Rs. 50000/- is leviable if the return is not filed upto 31st March. Even if such notice is issued to you then file the reply stating the facts of the case & that it has ramained to be filed inadvertantly. No penalty will be levied.
